What we collect, and why

When you sell us cards

  • Your name, email address and where the cards are (Northern Colorado or elsewhere), so we can send an estimate, the ship-to address or a pickup time, and pay you.
  • What you tell us about the cards: photos you email, card counts from the bulk form, and any notes. We use them only to value and buy the cards.
  • Payment details you choose to give us (a PayPal or Zelle address, or a mailing address for a check), used once, to pay you.
  • A recording of your box being opened and counted. It exists so there is a reference if a count or a condition is ever questioned, and for nothing else.
  • For purchases over $1,000, a photo ID. We keep a record of who sold us high-value cards, as responsible dealers do. We ask for it only once a final offer is accepted, by a reply to our email, and we confirm receipt so you know it landed. It goes into the purchase record and nowhere else: not into any shared folder, app or marketplace.

When you use the Card Finder

The card names you type are sent to our server so it can check our eBay listings and look up prices. We do not store them or connect them to you.

When you buy from us

Buying happens on eBay, Mana Pool or Misprint, under their privacy policies, not on this site. We see what those marketplaces show every seller: your name, shipping address and the order, used to pack and ship it.

This website

The site runs on Cloudflare, which handles the usual server logs, and it uses Cloudflare Web Analytics to count page views and measure load times. That beacon sets no cookies, does not fingerprint your browser and does not follow you to other sites; we see totals, not people. There is no advertising tracker. If you close the welcome offer banner, your browser remembers that for a week in its own storage; nothing about it is sent to us.

Who sees it

The Variant on duty, and nobody else. We do not sell, rent or trade your details, and we do not send marketing email. The only outside services that touch your information are the ones that run the shop: Cloudflare (website and email delivery), the email provider that holds our mailbox, and the payment service you chose to be paid through.

How long we keep it

  • Bulk form submissions: up to one year, then deleted.
  • Estimates that don't turn into a sale, and the photos sent with them: deleted 12 months after the last message.
  • Estimates that do become a sale: the emails and photos join the purchase record, below.
  • Inspection recordings: 90 days after the sale is settled, unless there is an open question about it.
  • Purchase records, including any ID: seven years, which is how long tax and business-record rules ask us to keep them, then deleted.
